How to use HotPlayer with a MAG box
MAG is a set-top-box line, not one single operating system. Infomir lists Linux MAG boxes and Android TV/Google TV MAG models. HotPlayer can be installed only on app-store capable models; classic Linux MAG boxes normally use portal or playlist settings instead of installing HotPlayer.

Quick path
If your MAG model runs Android TV or Google TV, follow the Android guide. If it is a classic Linux MAG box, use the portal/playlist setup your provider gives you instead of installing HotPlayer.
Install HotPlayer on MAG Box
- 1
Check the exact MAG model in Settings or on the sticker under the box.
- 2
If it is a MAG Android TV or Google TV model, open Google Play and search for HotPlayer.
- 3
Install HotPlayer from Google Play and open it.
- 4
Copy the HotPlayer device ID or MAC address shown in the app.
- 5
Add your playlist through HotPlayer upload or send the code to support.
- 6
If it is a classic Linux MAG model, do not look for an app installer; ask support for the portal URL or compatible playlist setup.

Common fixes
- If your MAG has no Google Play or app store, it is probably a classic Linux MAG box and cannot install HotPlayer directly.
- If your MAG model is MAG555 or another Google TV/Android TV model, follow the Android guide.
- If the portal will not load, verify the portal URL and reboot the box and router.
MAG HotPlayer FAQ
Can classic MAG boxes install HotPlayer?
Usually no. Classic Linux MAG boxes do not install HotPlayer like Android/Smart TV devices. They use portal or playlist configuration.
Which MAG boxes can use HotPlayer?
MAG models that run Android TV or Google TV can usually follow the Android installation flow through Google Play if HotPlayer is available for that model.
